She said in an interview with H3 Podcast that she was taught by her maternal grandmother up until she was three years old. Kenneth Taylor and Eden, who were married American couple that lived in the UK adopted Poarch. She explains that in the next decade she was responsible with household chores as well as being employed at the farm. Bryner is her younger brother, and she has two adopted sisters. Her family moved to the United States in Texas when she was 13 witht the exception of her older two sisters, who remain within the Phillipines. Later, Poarch served as a United States Navy officer and lived for several years in Japan.
